Environmental Management

Environmental Management System

We have an Environmental Management System based on the ISO 14001:2015 standard, which allows us to identify, prevent and control activities, operations and processes that may cause any impact on the environment, facilitating the continuous improvement of our environmental performance. As shown below:

Environmental Compliance

All of our activities, operations and processes comply with the applicable environmental legislation and regulations where each of our projects and facilities are located, among which the following stand out:

In addition, thanks to the efforts accumulated over the years to improve our environmental performance, we recently renewed our Environmental Quality certificate. This distinction is awarded by the National Environmental Auditing Program of the Federal Attorney's Office for Environmental Protection to those companies that take their commitment to the environment beyond what is required by the laws of the different levels of government.

Main Progress

Dibujando sonrisas, trazando futuros (Evento Navideño)

As part of our commitment to social welfare and support for the most vulnerable communities, we have planned four events focused on benefiting the most disadvantaged areas of Colima. These initiatives aim to provide tangible support to the families and children who need it most, helping to improve their quality of life and fostering a sense of community and solidarity.

One of the main axes of these events is the donation of toys, which seeks to bring joy to the little ones and offer a moment of hope in their lives. In addition to donations, these events are designed to encourage community support in a variety of ways, from the distribution of essential resources to the creation of spaces for interaction between families and participating volunteers.

Alimentado ilusiones, fortaleciendo familias (Comedores comunitarios)

In support of community development and with the aim of fostering the growth of the ‘Yo sí soy Colima’ movement, we have implemented a series of actions focused on hiring local restaurants and generating employment in the area. This initiative not only seeks to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants, but also to boost the local economy by promoting nearby businesses.

One of the main measures has been the creation of two community kitchens strategically located at either end of the Tepalcates II bridge extension. These canteens not only provide a space where workers and local residents can access healthy and affordable food, but also create an opportunity for nearby fondas to integrate into this initiative, providing their services and receiving financial support in the process. By hiring local staff and working with these small businesses, we are directly contributing to strengthening the economy in this area.

Ampliando Caminos, conectando futuros (Empleo temporal)

As part of the development of the Armería - Manzanillo Highway, 150 direct jobs have been provided for the construction works, offering a significant job opportunity to people from the local communities. These jobs not only represent a source of income for families in the region, but also a contribution to strengthening the local economy, generating a positive impact on the social and economic environment.

One of our main commitments has been to ensure that working conditions for all employees are dignified, safe and aligned with the highest labour standards. We have implemented rigorous workplace safety measures, including the provision of adequate personal protective equipment and the establishment of protocols to prevent accidents and occupational hazards. In addition, we have created an environment that respects and promotes equal opportunities, ensuring that all workers feel valued and protected.

Empleo Temporal

With the aim of expanding job opportunities and promoting inclusion in the labour market, we have developed a virtual job board at PINFRA. This platform is designed so that all people interested in a job, regardless of their experience or academic level, have the opportunity to apply and compete for a position in our company. By digitising this process, we seek to facilitate access to more people, eliminating geographical and administrative barriers that often limit the possibilities of finding employment.

The virtual job board is not only a channel for interested parties to apply for vacancies available at PINFRA, but also functions as a space where registered profiles are promoted to other companies, both in the private and governmental sectors. Through strategic alliances with various organisations, we have established a system of collaboration that allows candidates' profiles to be shared and considered for opportunities in other institutions. This greatly expands the employment options for those who register, giving them greater visibility and access to a wider network of employers.

Pescando Sueños, construyendo desarrollo

The objective of raising the productive potential of the fishermen of Laguna Cuyutlán is focused on generating a significant economic impact on the community, improving not only the fishermen's working conditions, but also strengthening their capacities and skills. This initiative seeks to equip fishermen with the tools and knowledge necessary to maximise the efficiency of their activities, while promoting sustainable practices that ensure the preservation of the lagoon's aquatic ecosystem.

By strengthening the productive capacities of the fishermen, it is intended that they will be able to make better use of the lagoon's natural resources, which means an increase in the quantity and quality of their catches. In addition, technical training programmes will be promoted to address issues such as the responsible management of species, the diversification of fishing activities and the incorporation of new technologies to optimise fishing and marketing processes. This will not only increase production, but also improve the competitiveness of fishermen in the local and regional market.

Tortugas para siempre (Tortugario)

The Tortugario de Cuyutlán is a space dedicated to the protection of various species of turtles, and its work includes the rescue, rehabilitation and release of these animals, as well as the conservation of their nesting areas. Together with them, we aim to support activities ranging from the protection of their natural habitats to beach clean-ups and reforestation of coastal areas.

Our approach is to actively contribute, not only with resources, but also by encouraging the participation of our communities to raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. By getting involved in these projects, we hope to have a long-term positive impact on both the ecosystem and the people who depend on its well-being. This partnership is a reflection of our commitment to the environment, always seeking a balance between development and the preservation of our natural surroundings.

Reciclando y ayudando

As part of our commitment to sustainability and the circular economy, we have implemented a programme to collect plastic bottle caps, which are then donated to CURSA, an organisation dedicated to the recycling and reuse of plastic materials. This effort aims to reduce the environmental impact generated by plastic waste, while promoting a culture of recycling within our community.

The collection of plastic lids is a simple but high-impact activity. Plastic caps are commonly discarded without thinking about their potential to be recycled, so by collecting them and delivering them to CURSA, we contribute directly to the reduction of plastic waste in our ecosystems. Once at CURSA's facilities, these lids are processed into new products, such as furniture, useful everyday items and even building material components.

Dulce camino

In an effort to strengthen our relationship with the surrounding communities and promote joint development, we have established a series of regular meetings with the ejidatarios of the areas near the Jatetelco - Higuerón highway. These meetings aim to understand directly the needs and concerns of the ejidatarios, as well as to identify areas where we can offer them support to improve their living conditions and enhance the development of their communities.

During these meetings, we address key issues such as access to resources, employment opportunities, infrastructure improvements, and the possibility of collaborating on projects that benefit both the community and our highway operations. Through open and respectful dialogue, we seek joint solutions that promote a positive and lasting impact on the region.

Apoyo vecino y Paso solidario

We have taken the initiative to establish constant and effective communication between the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) and the communities surrounding our highways in Morelos, specifically on the Siglo XXI Highway. This effort aims to create a direct channel of dialogue that allows us to address in a timely manner the concerns, needs and proposals of the communities that are impacted by the operation of our highways.

Collaboration with the SICT is key to ensuring that road infrastructure projects are developed in harmony with the social environment. Through this communication, we seek to facilitate the implementation of highway improvements, while ensuring that these actions are aligned with the interests and well-being of local communities. This process allows residents to have an active voice in highway-related decision-making, ensuring that their opinions are heard and considered.

Ampliando caminos con equidad y responsabilidad, Lluvias sin riesgos.

In our commitment to the communities surrounding our infrastructure projects, we act as an intermediary between the construction company responsible for the works and the local inhabitants to efficiently and proactively address any issues that may arise during construction. Among the main concerns we have addressed are the clearing of sewers, the cleaning and maintenance of drainage channels, and the prevention of landslides, problems that can directly impact people's quality of life and the safety of the infrastructure.

Our role as intermediaries is key to ensuring that these issues are resolved in a timely and appropriate manner, ensuring that the construction company takes the necessary measures to mitigate any negative impact on the environment. By maintaining open and fluid communication between the parties, we ensure that communities are able to voice their concerns, and that immediate action is taken to address them.

Apoyo ecoamigo

We are in constant contact with the communities along our highways, particularly on the Mexico - Marquesa route, with the aim of creating an open and collaborative dialogue that allows us to learn about their needs, concerns and projects. These approaches seek not only to generate a bond of trust, but also to contribute to the sustainable development of the localities that coexist with our operations.

A fundamental part of this process is to understand the projects that the community has planned. From urban improvement initiatives to environmental conservation or social development projects, we seek to align ourselves with the priorities of local residents, supporting and participating in those that promote collective wellbeing. By actively engaging with community leaders and residents, we ensure that our actions are in harmony with the communities' growth and development plans, generating a positive and respectful impact.
